Breeding Page II

Breeding Diet
I feed my lovebirds seed mix and fruit and vegetables as usual with loads of fresh water and cuttlefish bone (calcium). When the eggs hatch offer white bread with crusts cut off and soaked in milk. Also I feed my bird EMP egg food.

Rearing and conditioning Food

Grit is a vital part of any birds diet because it aids digestion by breaking up food in the birds gizzard. The grit pot should be changed daily as some birds are picky and only eat a certain size of grit.Grit is used in breeding season especially because the parents need it to mash up there food in the parents gizzard for the chicks.

Nesting Materials!

Each different species uses different materials to build nests and some don`t even build a nest. My birds use straw, shreded paper, hay, millet twigs, twigs, leaves, bark and shreded willow and ripped up fruit tree branches.
